  We are thrilled to announce that Samantha Harvey, the author of ORBITAL, published by Penguin Random House UK’s Jonathan Cape and Vintage UK imprints, was unanimously voted by the panel of deliberating judges, as the 2024 Booker winner, after reading more than 150 books over seven months.

  On Friday, November 8, the 2025 GRAMMY® nominations were announced and Penguin Random House Audio is excited to announce that two of their audiobooks are spotlighted. Dolly Parton’s BEHIND THE SEAMS and Barbra Streisand’s MY NAME IS BARBRA, both read by the authors and published by Penguin Random House Audio, have earned 2025 Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording GRAMMY® Award nominations.

  The Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ) announced its 23rd Annual SEJ Awards winners and G.P. Putnam’s Sons author Alden Wicker earned the Rachel Carson Environment Book Award for Reporting on the Environment for her book TO DYE FOR: How Toxic Fashion Is Making Us Sick — and How We Can Fight Back.

  John Green to Publish Nonfiction Title with New PYR Imprint, Crash Course Books

  John Green, the #1 internationally bestselling author, will publish a nonfiction title with Penguin Young Readers’ new imprint Crash Course Books. EVERYTHING IS TUBERCULOSIS: The History and Persistence of Our Deadliest Infection will release March 18, 2025, and will be the first book published by Crash Course Books, a new imprint of Penguin Young Readers inspired by the popular educational YouTube channel founded by Hank and John Green.

  On September 30, 2024, Target Corporation announced its 2024 Books of the Year, and Random House Children’s Books, is proud to publish two of the four featured titles: THE GLASS GIRL by Kathleen Glasgow, the Young Adult Book of the Year, and IMPOSSIBLE CREATURES by Katherine Rundell, the Middle Grade Book of the Year.

  WOW news from New York announced October 1 by the National Book Foundation.

  Eleven of the 50 shortlisted titles selected by the judges in each of the Young People’s Literature, Translated Literature, Poetry, Nonfiction, and Fiction categories are published by Penguin Random House imprints, and will contend for 2024 National Book Awards, with our representation in Nonfiction and Fiction particularly strong.

  Penguin Random House (PRH) and Little Free Library (LFL) have announced their collaborative activities in honor of Banned Books Week. Through this partnership, PRH will sponsor ten Little Free Library book-sharing boxes to be granted to high-need communities across the U.S. via LFL’s Impact Library Program.
