Part of the nonfiction “Welcome to the Museum” series, this lavish compendium joins books on, among other topics, human artifacts (“Historium,” 2015), plants (“Botanicum,” 2017) and trees (“Arboretum,” 2024). Handsome illustrations paired with short passages of text make all the books in the series fun for browsing—and useful for school projects. And though bugs may not be everyone’s favorite creatures, the text of “Insectarium” is so engaging and full of informative detail that even insect-averse 8- to 12-year-olds may find themselves drawn in.
