Seven years ago, Berta went out with friends and never made it home. Somewhere in the early morning hours, she simply vanished after a night of partying at a rave.

Her father, a former private detective, lives in squalor on an orchard in Murcia with his dog, Wolfe, as his only company.  Berta’s disappearance remains shrouded in mystery, a wound that won’t   heal and an unbearable failure.  But when an acquaintance asks him to look into the accidental death of a young man in a local scrapyard, his investigative instincts kick in, and a lucky discovery puts him on the rocky path to the truth.
 
What happened to Berta? A rebel and non-conformist, what secrets was she hiding? Most of all, what happened in the desert the night of the rave?
