Our brains have the capacity to reorganize themselves and create new neural connections throughout our lives. This ability, known as “neuroplasticity,” allows the brain to adapt and learn new skills.
 
As we age, certain changes can affect cognitive function but do not necessarily mean intellectual decline. In middle age, our brains may not be as fast or efficient in some areas (processing speed, attention or working memory) as they were when we were younger, but they develop a set of strengths and abilities that can be tapped and developed for continued growth and learning.
