1. If you were in Hallie’s shoes, would you have continued to watch Chris’s videos? Why or why not?

2. If you were in Chris’s shoes, would you have told Hallie you knew she’d watched the videos immediately, or would you have kept it to yourself? Do you agree with Chris’s decision not to tell Hallie immediately?

3. What elements of Hallie’s personality make her a good event organizer?

4. Chris says he loves science because “there’s always a solution to be sought.” However, he recognizes that same finality can’t always be applied to people and emotions. How do you see this logic play into his personality?

5. Hallie and Chris both have strained relationships with their parents. How do you think they handled their problems with their parents? Would you have done anything differently? And how do you think their issues with their parents affected their relationship with each other?

6. Would you rather work for NASA or Lia Zhang Events? Why? What are the stressful and rewarding elements of each career?

7. Hallie struggles with people-pleasing. Do you think she grows by the end of the novel? In what ways?
