“The most famous fictional horse of the century” (The New York Times) meets his most chilling match in this beloved classic that takes readers on an unforgettable ride!
“Alec’s heart was racing now. The mare was as light-footed as a ghost, and, in fact . . .”
While on vacation, Alec Ramsay rides the Black down a path into a beautiful but mysterious swamp. There, he discovers a ghostly gray mare and a strange rider. The rider invites Alec and the Black back to his home, but Alec is uneasy. And as that feeling grows, he realizes that his host is not what he seems. Suddenly Alec and the Black are faced with a wild chase through the swamps!
It has been more than seventy-five years since the first Black Stallion adventure was published, and it is still literature’s most enduring friendship between a boy and his horse.
Follow Alec and the Black on all of their adventures:
The Black Stallion
The Black Stallion Returns
The Black Stallion Revolts
…and many more!
