Turn of the Century

Ellen Jackson grew up in Glendale, California, where her mother worked for Walt Disney Studios. Her childhood interests centered around reading. She has traveled in Europe and South America, including the Amazon jungle and the Galapagos Islands.Ellen has written and published many fiction and nonfiction books for children. She is also the author of the award-winning Turn of the Century and Cinder Edna (Lothrop, Lee and Shephard). She lives in California with her Miniature Schnauzer, Bailey. She writes almost every day.

Jan Davey Ellis is a native of Ohio. She received her B.F.A. in Painting from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Jan spent most of her childhood reading. When she is not busy drawing and painting. Jan enjoys gardening, tennis, jogging, animals, and daydreaming. She has taught after-school enrichment classes and she once built a thirty-foot Chinese dragon with one of her classes.
