William John Eccles
About the Author
Professor W.J. ECCLES (1917–1998) was educated in Montreal and served overseas with the RCAF during World War II. A graduate of McGill University, Dr. Eccles received his post-graduate training there under the direction of Professor E.R. Adair, and at the Sorbonne. Upon his return from France he taught at the Universities of Manitoba and Alberta, and was the professor of history at the University of Toronto. His book Frontenac: The Courtier Governor received the 1959 Award of the Pacific Coast Branch of the American Historical Association.
