About the Author

Loranne Brown’s short fiction work "Repetitive Tasks," which is adapted from The Handless Maiden, won an Award of Special Recognition at the BC Festival of the Arts and was also chosen as a finalist in this year’s Writers’ Union of Canada competition. Loranne Brown grew up in Thunder Bay, then took her B.A. at the University of Toronto. During a decade in Bermuda she was an arts reviewer and weekly columnist. She now lives in Langley, B.C. with her husband and two children.
