A former U.S. Army Intelligence officer and technical writer, he is the author of the novels Patriots, Expatriates, and Liberators, as well as of the nonfiction guides How to Survive the End of the World As We Know It and Tools for Survival. He lives in an undisclosed location west of the Rockies.
