Jan Alford

Jan Alford says she had a great childhood. Her family moved around a lot, and she lived in Germany and Japan, as well as in the United States, while she was growing up. She started writing poetry in seventh grade, and has continued to write through college and a variety of jobs as secretary, bill collector, aerobics instructor, administrative assistant, and director of marketing at an exclusive country club. Her best ideas, which strike while she is trying to get to sleep at night, come from what she knows best: “I have four very active and spirited children who provide me with more material than I could use in a hundred books.” I Can’t Believe I Have to Do This is her first published novel.

Jan Alford lives with her husband, who is a pilot, their three sons and one daughter, two cats and a dog, in Rexburg, Idaho.
