A. Scott Connelly
Dr. Scott Connelly, founder and inventor of Met-Rx Engineered Nutrition, is a critical care and metabolic specialist. As an undergraduate at Boston University, Dr. Connelly was selected for special Independent Scholar Program jointly run by Boston University, Harvard University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he studied neurophysiology and metabolism. He attended the Boston University School of Medicine, and did his post-graduate training at Harvard’s Massachusetts General Hospital and Stanford University Hospital, where he joined the clinical faculty in intensive care medicine.
Dr. Connelly founded Met-Rx in 1991, and the company grew at a spectacular rate throughout the 1990’s. Met-Rx products are now among the best-selling sports supplements in the world. Dr. Connelly designed the Met-Rx gym at the Met-Rx headquarters in Irvine, California, where he supervises the training of world-class athletes and celebrities. Dr. Connelly also lectures throughout the country, teaching physicians, fitness trainers, and the lay public his unique approach to nutrition and fitness.
Dr. Connelly established the A. Scott Connelly Laboratory for Nutritional Sciences at the UCLA Center for Human Nutrition. He is also a visiting lecturer on nutritional and muscle metabolism at UCLA.
