Akeem S. Roberts

Akeem S. Roberts is the illustrator of the J.D. the Kid Barber chapter book series, which was a School Library Journal Best Book of 2021, a Chicago Public Library Best Book of 2021, an NCTE Charlotte Huck Award Honor, and a Texas Bluebonnet Master List selection. He is currently an associate director at Holler Studios and has worked as an illustrator for Hasbro (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) and as a cartoonist for the New Yorker. His clients include Men’s Health, BOOM Studios, Condé Nast, Venmo, and more. In 2021, Akeem participated in the New York City art gallery show “Cartooning While Black” alongside other Black New Yorker cartoonists.
