Catherine Venable Moore

Catherine Venable Moore is a nonfiction writer, editor, and public historian from West Virginia. Her writing has been published in Best American Essays, Oxford American, and VICE, and earned recognition from MacDowell, Millay Colony, The Studios at Mass MoCA, the West Virginia Humanities Council, and the Waymakers Collective. She is an editor-at-large for West Virginia University Press and lives in Harrisonburg, Virginia, with her family. She is the co-founder of the West Virginia Mine Wars Museum. She received a Whiting Creative Nonfiction Grant and a National Endowment for the Humanities Public Scholars Grant.
